Get married in Umbria: wedding at the Abbey of Spineto
Tijn and Susie are a couple of Dutch-American origin who chose Umbria to celebrate their wedding and precisely the Abbey of Spineto, on the border with the Val d'Orcia. Protected by UNESCO heritage, the abbey has eleven restored farmhouses and it is in one of these that Tijn and Susie got ready with their families and friends. They both toasted with their loved ones before going to the ceremony. Once ready Tijn wanted to personally deliver the bouquet to her Susie. The newlyweds followed us for some photos with the beautiful Val d'Orcia in the background with the applauses of their guests. After a few minutes they went right to the Ancient Abbey, where passing through the suggestive cloister, they entered, respectively with their parents, in the garden set up for the ceremony. The rite therefore took place outdoors, on a late afternoon in early September, with a symbolic Jewish rite ceremony. Tijn and Susie were really very moved during their exchange of vows and it was wonderful for us to capture the deep emotions of that young couple. After the throwing of the rice we took advantage of the green areas and of the sunset, which wonderful, was manifesting behind us for the couple service. After a short aperitif and the family photos the bride and groom made their entrance into the room greeted by the warmth and joy of all their guests. The dances started before the cutting of the cake and continued until late at night. The entire event was designed and curated by the wedding planner Lisa Torchio.
